Skin Needling

Using the latest technology in medical grade micro needling, Dermapen 4 stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. Dermapen 4 glides over the skin creating millions of fine, vertical fractional channels up to 104% faster than other microneedling pens. These channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients deeper into the skin. The micro-injuries trigger a natural process of repair, increasing the production of collagen and elastin and visibly improving a wide range of skin concerns such as aging, scarring, pigmentation, enlarged pores, stretch marks blackheads. The medical needling devices we use have the highest possible safety and come with FDA and TGA clearance – very important!

Morpheus8 RF Skin Needling

When we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity, with wrinkles, lines, and sagging appearing. Using radiofrequency, a Morpheus8 treatment stimulates collagen production to tighten and smooth wrinkles on the face and body. Morpheus8 comfortably penetrates the skin at a deeper level to transform your complexion and restoring more youthful facial skin. Morpheus8 allows you to experience the benefits of a facelift without the need for incisions.

MORPHEUS8 treatment induces ablation, thus improving the appearance of rough texture, fine lines, wrinkles, and depressed scars, such as acne scars along with superficial pigments that will be ablated. The treatment also induces skin rejuvenation by heating of the dermis which stimulates collagen generation and replenishment, subdermal remodelling as well as closure of superficial fine blood capillaries.

Prep For Skin Needling:

We will first determine whether you are a candidate for skin needling and will guide and prepare your skin so it is healthy and functioning at its best before we step you up to advanced treatments like skin needling. When your skin is at its healthy state and when your skin is happy, you will get the most out of your needling treatment – RESULTS!

Leading up to your treatment, we will get you to stop using active ingredients in skincare like Vitamin A and exfoliants and stop taking your fish oils – or anything that contributes to blood thinning.

What to expect post treatment:

The redness that you experience from microneedling will mostly fade within 48 hours. You may experience some swelling, peeling and breakouts, and the skin can become dry as the skin recovers and regenerates. Most of the visible recovery from microneedling happens in the first day or two after treatment, but healing and collagen stimulation will still be happening under the surface of your skin for months afterwards.

Aftercare Advice:

As you’ve just had an advanced skin penetration treatment, looking after your skin post treatment is just as important as the treatment itself – this makes a HUGE difference in the outcome of your treatment. As a general rule, don’t spend prolonged time out in the sun and keep re-applying your SPF protection as you’ll be more prone to sun damage than usual. Don’t put on makeup, especially with a makeup brush that has been used before, in the 24 hours following microneedling, as you wouldn’t want to transfer bacteria onto your skin. You’ll also need to avoid swimming pools, saunas, and situations where you might sweat heavily, including intense workouts at the gym, to protect your newly treated skin. After 72 hours have passed, you may be able to resume these activities.

For the first few days after your microneedling treatment, you’ll need to avoid any skincare product that contains harsh chemicals meant to exfoliate. Avoid anything that’s scented, and don’t use glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acids.

Retinol A and vitamin C serum should be avoided for the first 48 hours, minimum, after microneedling. After two days, you can gradually add products back into your daily routine especially for hydrating and anti-aging purposes to assist the skin to heal.
